James Michael Mozingo



James Michael Mozingo, 62, passed away Sunday at his residence. He is the son of the late John Murray Mozingo and Octavia Williams Mozingo, and is the husband of Kim Stone. He was a Baptist by faith. Michael had been a truck driver and heavy machine operator for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He had played semi pro baseball at Grantham as well as being an avid hunter, fisherman, and proud Papa.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 6 pm.The famiy will recieve friends from 5:00 pm -6:00 pm prior to the service.Both the visitation and the memorial service will be held at Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church, 1199 Black Jack Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530-7741.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by a stepdaughter, Jessica Fleming of Goldsboro; step grandson, John Pruitt Person; four brothers, David Neel and wife, Lynda of Goldsboro, Hugh Ross and wife, Heather of Dover, NH, Jason Ross and wife, Maggie of Durham, and Robert Simon and wife, Rene of Cookeville, TN; a sister Jennie Ross of Mt. Olive; special friends, Bill Seymour, Phillip Denning and Jeanette Jackson, and the members of Hickory Island Hunting and Fishing Club.

Mr. Mozingo was preceded in death by his best friend, Jerry Mack Hill, husband of Glenda Hill.

The family would like to thank family, friends, and members of the community who helped to provide for Mike and Kim during his long term disability and illness.
