​Peggy G. Pendergraft



Peggy Gurganus Pendergraft, 79, of Dudley passed away Sunday morning at Wayne U.N.C. Health Care. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Mamie Gurganus, and was the widow of the late George Terry Pendergraft. Mrs. Pendergraft had worked for O’berry Center in the dietary department, as well as a machine operator for Barry, and as a dental assistant.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Entombment will follow at the Wayne Memorial Park mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7-9 P.M. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pendergraft is survived by her son, Mark Pendergraft and fiancé, Jane Key of Goldsboro; a granddaughter, Krystal Pendergraft; a great grandson, Ace Bennett, who was the light of her life; a friend, Ruth Outlaw; her caregiver, Carlene Fennell; and her pet dog, Toby.
