Joyce Hope Saffell

Joyce H. Saffell, age 52, of 105 Miller Street, Goldsboro, died Wednesday evening at her home. Born in Wayne Co., she was the daughter of Annette Carter Sturgeon and the late Edward Earl Newsome.

Hope had a great big heart. She loved every animal she saw especially her cats. She also had a big heart for people. She was kind but would tell it like it is good or bad. Even with all her health issues she stayed positive. She loved the Lord. She loved her friends and she loved her family. She is her sisters’ best friend. She is the light of her mothers’ life. She is her two sons rock, and she was a true friend to those she called friend. Besides spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed watching her cats play. She enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows. And recently, she truly enjoyed being a grandmother. Hope touched the heart of everyone she met. Hope was taken from us way too soon, but we know she is in no more pain, no more cancer and she is perfect with her Lord and Savior. Hope will be deeply missed.

No Formal Services will be held at this time. The family will be accepting visitors at the home.
