Obituary

Frank Smutny, 75, of Dudley passed away Monday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was born in Allegheny county Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Mary B. Smutny and was married to the late Martha T. Smutny. MSgt Smutny, a veteran of the Vietnam war, having served two tours, retired from the United States Air Force at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base following 26 years of honorable service to our country. He loved a good laugh, going fishing, and animals. Mr. Smutny was kind to everyone he met.


A service of remembrance will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Committal services will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.

Mr. Smutny is survived by two daughters, Bonnie R. Smutny-Fritz and husband, Randy of Boxboro, MA and Terryl B. Terrell and Fiancé Brian Jones of Killeen, TX, a sister, Eleanor Laverde of Clinton, PA; four grandchildren, Terryl A. Fritz, Giovanni Terrell, Cameron Terrell, and Brayden Terrell-Jones, and a great granddaughter, Eliza Terrell.

A brother, Arthur Smutny also preceded him in death.
