James Jay Jackson



James Jay Jackson, age 56, died Thursday afternoon at UNC Wayne Health. Born in Fort Worth, Texas he was the son of William “Bud” Jackson of Nashville, N.C. and the late Betty Adams Jackson.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.

James was a veteran of The United States Coast Guard and was self-employed as a painter.

In addition to his father, James is survived by a son; Kenneth James Jackson of Goldsboro, a daughter and son in law; Carmen Ann and James Strickland of Goldsboro, two Brothers; Mark Jackson of Wilmington and Joe Jackson of Rocky Mount, a step-sister; Janie Davis of Rocky Mount and two grandchildren.
